Mr Randhir Shinde, with his wife, Khiya (ex-pupil of St Mary’s School Pune, India) and daughters Mridula (now a Head Girl of the school) and Anushka (also at the school), knowing that I had always longed to visit Canterbury Cathedral, kindly drove me to Canterbury and, after a warm welcome from Khiya’s cousin and his family overnight, enabled me to have several hours entering into the beauty and prayer of this ancient place of pilgrimage, hallowed by the martyrdom of St Thomas Becket.
I give thanks for this creative friendship with St Mary’s School, Pune, India, dear to my memory, for it is Randhir Shinde who has taken all the photos of the Convent there which you may have seen and who has made a video for the school.
