On the Festival of the Presentation of Christ in the Temple Sr. Catherine Naomi walked in her usual quiet way into St. Mary Magdalene’s Chapel for the Eucharist. It was her 100th birthday. She was warmly welcomed by Caroline, our Warden, &, before the final blessing, was given a special personal blessing with her Sisters gathered around her. There was a burst of applause from everyone present. Later in the morning Sister received help with opening her cards, especially the card from the Queen. The photos show her at tea with us, about to enjoy the cutting of her birthday cake, enjoying our singing ‘Happy Birthday’ & then relaxing with us.
Two days earlier Sr. Catherine Naomi’s family arrived to have tea with her. There were over 30 present covering four generations with the youngest being a small baby. It was a very happy occasion with Sister enjoying their company for at least two hours.
